The 5 best hairstyles for 4th of July weekend & the summer!
Summer is always a great time to play with and try new hairstyles. This 4th of July Weekend, we are excited to share some of our favorite styles - keeping it simple, easy and elegant to achieve the hottest, on-trend hairstyles. Whether you are enjoying a small family celebration, going to a “socially distant” BBQ, or celebrating the holiday virtually with friends and family, here are our five favorite hairstyles for this holiday weekend:
THE BEACH WAVE
Using the Madison Fishtail Braid and loosely curled wavy hair, this style will give you the perfect “summer at the beach” look. Simply adjust the Madison Fishtail Braid to fit your head, section out two inch pieces of hair in front and keep those forward as you slip on the braid. The braid will sit under the rest of your hair, and show just at the crown. Freshen up the curls in the sections in front of the braid to beautifully frame your face. The fishtail adds a gorgeous detail that will make it look like you’ve spent hours on your hair!
THE HALF BACK
Using any of the Madison Braids and loosely curled wavy hair, this look is sophisticated, yet playful. Simply adjust the Madison Braid to fit your head, section out two to three inch pieces of hair in front and keep those forward as you slip on the braid. The braid will sit under the rest of your hair, and show just at the crown. Next, take the sections in front of the braid and pull them to the back of your head, leaving a few small strands in front to softly frame your face. Pin the sections you pulled back with bobby pins or secure with a beautiful clip or barrette. The braid provides detail that will make it look like you’ve spent hours on your hair - especially if you use one of the more intricate braids like the Double Lulu or the Butterfly or the Lacy - we love them all
The simplest of our five summer styles, this look is the epitome of summer fashion. Curl or straighten your hair as desired. Take any Madison Braid - though our favorite for this style is the classic Lulu Two Strand - and adjust to fit your head. Simply slide the braid on and leave just past your hairline. Shake your hair down over the braid, so it acts like a headband and pin in place if needed. This simple crown effect is beautifully bohemian, simple, and a classic summer style.
This is a gorgeous option for a romantic look that is simple to create and easy to wear in hot weather. Start by curling your hair as you like. This style works with loose wavy curls and tighter, more formal curls. Choose a Madison Braid that matches your desired style. We love the Fishtail for this look, but the Butterfly is another gorgeous option to make the look a little more formal. Before putting on the braid, make sure it is adjusted to fit your head correctly and pull a few loose strands of hair at the front to softly frame your face. Put on your braid, leaving a small section of hair at the bottom under the band to pull up and hide the band later. Secure the braid with bobby pins if needed. Section off half your hair and tease it up to create some height directly behind the braid. Pin in place. Gently braid all the loose hair, pulling it to the side of your head. Once loosely braided, wrap up and around itself to create a side bun directly behind and slightly below your ear. Pin in place and/or secure with a beautiful decorative clip or barrette. Curl the small pieces framing your face and any other loose tendrils that may have escaped from the braid/bun. This look is soft, romantic, and easy to wear!
Similar to the side bun, but even easier! And it's another option that can be worn for any occasion. This style is best done starting with wavy curled hair. Section off two inch pieces of hair in front. Adjust the Madison Braid of your choice to fit your head and put it on leaving the back on top of your hair, and leaving the front sectioned pieces out in front of the braid. Next, start with the front sections, gently pulling them back and softly tucking them over the braid. This creates a soft roll around your head. Work your way around to the back from each side, softly tucking the hair in over the braid. Let some of the ends stick out from the tuck, and pin to secure as needed. For a messier look, leave the ends straight/wavy, and for a more formal look, curl the ends softly. To add more drama, use decorative pins and/or tuck in flowers along the roll. This simple, elegant look is a beautiful way to keep your hair up in hot summer weather and a great style for any type of celebration.
